Ink explorations
A collection of ink explorations on photo paper. Diving into black India ink again, but this time a focus on the space between the darkness, manipulation of the wet elements, finding balance between chaos and intent. I’m not searching for answers, just listening to the materials and enjoying flow.
Industrial, foggy nightmares, dreams, places I’ve been, never been, will ever be…a direct view into different darker emotions without necessarily dragging you down into them…intent, regret, rage, frustration, a dim hope for what could be. Works to sit and think with for a while, more and more in them than original meets the eye.
It’s less about the theme and more the journey. The experience. The reaction. When it hits, it hits.
The following pieces are on a mix of paper sizes, all cut from an original 8.5x11. My favorite, so far, has been the 4.25 x 8.5inches, a strip of paper. It’s roomy, without being too roomy, and as I get used to playing and spread out into the full sized sheet, the perfect amount of space. But, as I dig deep into the second set, I find myself growing into the larger, full paper sized, and, now, dreams of even larger pieces from rolls instead of sheets.
Project began November, 2025.
